January - June 2005

TeKnow won a contract with Windsor Life Assurance (Telford) via Trinity Expert Systems (Coventry). WLA recently acquired 2 life assurance companies and needed to migrate all policy related data to their own in-house system. TeKnow were involved in both the mapping, transformation and conversion of data which was accomplished using hand crafted migration scripts developed on HP-UX using a mixture of shell scripts, PL/SQL and Oracle functionality such as materialized views. Other tasks undertaken included performance tuning and database sizing, as well as technical architecture advice to the client.

During this time, TeKnow continued to support our valued clients and welcomed Broadway Kitchens, Heyward Pet Accessories and Lowson Ward Accountants to our expanding portfolio of clients.

July - December 2005

TeKnow gained another contract with Windsor Life Assurance, this time to migrate some 9.5 million documents into WLA’s document management system. This was driven by the Oracle database along with Captaris Alchemy document management system.

TeKnow coordinated the capture and delivery of 9.5 million documents with The EDM Group (Wolverhampton) and delivered a solution within a 12 week period. The system went live over the Christmas period and was a resounding success, on time and to budget.
