This page is updated on a regular basis and chronicles projects undertaken by TeKnow.
January - June 2004
With the seasonal festivities out of the way, TeKnow were busy completing a short-term Oracle assignment for Car Care Plan Ltd. in Bradford. Car Care Plan are part of the General Motors Group and deal in vehicle warranties and finance products.
As part of an Oracle Financials 11i implementation, TeKnow undertook a 6 week assignment to assist with data conversion and interfacing elements of the project.
Having been contacted earlier in 2003 by Light House Media Centre, Wolverhampton, TeKnow started analysis of implementing Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003. Light House already run SBS 2000, not installed by TeKnow, but have had various server crashes, leading to them appointing TeKnow to assist.
After much analysis we concluded that it would be beneficial for Light House to replace the server with a rack-mounted NEC solution and to upgrade to Small Business Server 2003. With the exiting system in a precarious state, TeKnow implemented a regular backup routine - to ensure safety until the new system could be installed.
Acting on our advice, Light House purchased an NEC 120EF rack mount server and transformed an old storage room into a bespoke server room. TeKnow installed a firewall and antivirus solution as part of the new system. The project was a huge success, to budget and on time.
During this period, TeKnow continued to support Light House and all our other clients on a day-to-day basis.
July - December 2004
TeKnow were asked to return to Car Care Plan in Bradford, based on earlier project success.
Light House continued to be a valued client and TeKnow assist on a regular basis with any aspects of administration, hardware support/supply and future planning that cannot be dealt with by Light House IT staff.
TeKnow had discussions with Windsor Life Assurance (Telford) about a possible Oracle contract. Some initial work was carried out up to the end of the year.
